Open Coordinates is a collection of 10,000 GPS coordinates developed from open source data. Tokens can be minted at no charge (user pays gas fees).
Each NFT works like a ticket, unlocking virtual experiences on this site. But there's the potential to do more; apps that tune into local radio stations, new styles
of geocaching. We hope people use these tokens to make games, art and other projects.
The GPS coordinates were supplied by the World Cities Database, maps were dynamically
generated using OpenStreetMap, and the visual styling of the map was developed by
Stamen Design. All data and design is used under Creative
Commons 3.0 attribution. This project was inspired by the Loot and OpenPalette
projects, as well as Travelling by Approximation by Jenny ODell.
